10 Most Popular, Practical Cat Litter Box 2021 | Buyer’s Guide and Reviews

Almost everyone, adults and kids alike have a natural fondness for cats.  They are loving, quiet, and very playful pets that can provide you with years of entertainment.  Although most of us have a fondness for cats, that fondness can rapidly diminish when it comes to the litter box.  Even the most hardened cat lover may get tired of litter box duty, especially when it comes down to scooping “you know what” from the litter box.

Cats are very intelligent, instinctively knowing how they should use the litter box.  After the cat has finished using the litter box, someone in the family will need to scoop the waste from the litter box.  This can be a very dirty and somewhat smelly job, one that is often overlooked during the day when the workload gets heavy. Cleaning up the litter box doesn’t take but a few minutes, although most would prefer not to do it at all.  Although the litter box will need to be scooped out daily, it will also need to be changed once a week as well, by throwing the current bag out and replacing the box with a new bag and fresh litter.

Those who don’t like to scoop out the litter box should invest in one of the best inventions ever – the self cleaning litter box.  These litter boxes are easy to use, and will keep the area clean.  After the cat has used it, the self cleaning litter box will automatically clean the litter either by sifting or using a device that resembles a rake.

Less time spent maintaining your cat's litter box means you can enjoy more quality moments with your cat and live happy together!

Strike scooping the litter box off your to-do list. With the ScoopFree Covered Self-Cleaning Litter Box, there’s no scooping, cleaning or refilling your cat’s litter box for weeks. It uses the crystal litter that provides 5 times better odor control than traditional clumping litter by absorbing the urine and dehydrating solid waste. This low-tracking litter also helps keep your floors clean because it is 99% dust free and doesn’t stick to your cat’s paws. Safety sensors ensure that the scooping cycle only occurs when your cat is out of the box. It uses disposable trays that have a plastic lining to help protect against leaking, and each tray comes with a lid for quick and easy disposal. Just remove the tray and throw it away. There’s even a health counter that tracks how many times your furry feline uses the box, which is a convenient way to detect early signs of a health issue, and the included privacy cover gives your cat a secluded bathroom. For cats that are 6 months and older. PetSafe brand is here to help you and your pet live happy together. Check out the price at the bottom of the page.

The Easiest Clean Routine
Rethink the litter box with the BREEZE Litter System. The innovative all-in-one system helps you conquer odor by dividing liquids from solids using an advanced pellet system and disposable pads. Non-clumping pellets allow liquid to pass through to the absorbent pad below, locking in moisture and fighting odor. Solids stay in the grated tray, where anti-tracking pellets ensure easy scooping and odor control.

Simple Setup & Maintenance-1. Snap the sidewall onto the grated base. 2. Place one cat pad (soft side up) in the BREEZE Litter System drawer and slide into the base. 3. Fill the top portion of the box with one 3.5-lbs package of litter pellets. 4. Scoop out solid waste and dispose of daily (pellets do not clump). 5. Add more pellets as needed. We recommend that you replace the pellets completely once a month. 6. Slide drawer out to replace disposable pad. Drawer can be rotated 180 degrees, without touching the pad, to extend pad life. Note-We want to remind those with suppressed immune systems and pregnant women that a parasite sometimes found in cat feces can cause toxoplasmosis. Please wash hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter. Encouraging your cat to use an indoor litter box, or properly disposing of outdoor cat feces, is beneficial to overall water quality. Please do not flush cat litter in toilets or dispose of it outdoors in gutters or storm drains. Used litter is not recommended for garden use. Store in a dry place.

Recommendation from cat owners

There's really only so much you can say about them. Does it look nice? Yes. Yes it does. I don't feel weird about it being in my living room because it looks fancy, as far as litter boxes go. Does my cat poop in it? Yup. I have a finicky kitty. Finicky kitty likes to only poop if they think no one is watching. This litter box, with the dome and the steps allows my kitty to pretend like no one is watching. Or maybe they are just pretending they are pooping in the Taj Mahal of litter boxes. I don't care. They poop in it instead of in less opportune places. The litter box is not terrible to clean up. This is the second one I have owned because after many, many years of owning the first one, we reached the point where it was less annoying to buy a new one than to clean the new one. That's not a diss on this litter box. I don't even want to discuss how long that first litter box lasted before I felt the need to replace it.

Here's the short form review: If your cat wants to poop in a covered box, this is a pretty great covered box. It will last you a while, it looks kind of alright as far as litter boxes go, and there are stairs so your cat can pretend they're in, I don't know, Santorini, or wherever cats would like to vacation for their poops. I've never been a cat, but this is what I would want to poop in.

 Litter Cleaning For Cats

Self cleaning boxes that use shifting will often times have a round design.  Once the cat leaves the covered box, the dome on top will revolve for the box to clean.  The litter in the box will be shifted with the waste being put below the litter where it is discarded.  Once the waste is properly disposed of, the litter will be returned to its normal position in the box for the cat to use again.

Boxes that have raking systems will often times sport a rectangular design.  Once the cat leaves the box, the rake will automatically come out and clean the litter.  The rake will clean all of the litter in the box, including the clumps of waste as well.  Rakes are popular, although the shifting litter boxes are by far more popular and more common.

Those who are often times away from home could greatly benefit from a self cleaning litter box.  They are great to have for cats that spend a lot of time by themselves, as they virtually eliminate any scooping of litter on your part.  You can find them at your local pet or department store, even online as well.  They are very affordable – and ideal for anyone who doesn’t like scooping waste from their litter box.

Enjoy!

  1. When a cat sprays something, he is simply marking his territory through his urine. The spraying is simply the cat’s way of letting others know that the territory is his. Even though it may make you mad and annoy you, getting angry with your cat will solve nothing. If you raise your voice or show angry towards your cat, it can very well result in more spraying. 3. Bought Petsave Litter Scoop Free. I’m disappointed with the effectiveness of the litter, especially fir the price. So the idea is that it automatically rakes the poo into a storage compartment for you which you empty after a few days. Unfortunately, there are several issues: (1), it still stinks so unless it’s placed out of the way, you will still go in daily to remove the poo, (2) the electronically-activated metal rake FAILS and routinely stops working in the middle of its sweep forcing you to go in to try to jar it back into movement. After about 6 months, this happens 1-2 times DAILY. (3) The rake itself becomes very soiled with poo which hardens and becomes very difficult and tedious to clean. (4) If the cat poos / pees in the corners where the rake starts, it cannot reach to rake it so it just sits there and you are forced to remove it. (5) The crystal litter is ineffective for odour, yet of course they want you to use their own. Overall, I spent several weeks thinking about it because being that it’s electronic, it is quite expensive and The reality is that it is only marginally effective (I also bought the forever litter tray) and in need of a redesign. I would not recommend it as a solution to traditional litter woes.
